Thank you for all the comments. The sweater is going to have a little time out in the corner until my wrist recovers and the weather drastically cools off. Say December or so.
In the meantime, I’m knitting socks during the day for Summer of Socks and clearing out all my UFO’s in the evenings in preparation for the Ravelympics starting August 8, 2008. For Team Loopy Ewe, I’ve entered the Sock Put with my first pair of Monkey socks and the Shawl Relay I’m entering the Mystic Meadows stole. I’m debating that if I can’t get my UFO’s done I might enter one WIPs Wrestling.
My UFOs are not as bad as some people have but they still exist. The Vine Lace Charity Wrap has been languishing in the bottom drawer of the yarn tower since October last year when I realized I had blown past the deadline for the silent auction fundraiser it was destined to.

I just never got back to it after the rush of Christmas knitting. There’s absolutely no reason why I shouldn’t get it done now. I have extra yarn, it’s all ready 1/2 way finished and I’m picking it up in July rather than 2 weeks before it’s require. I’m just dreading dealing with all the ends when I get done knitting.
Next on the list of UFO’s is the Pacific Islands Stole. I began this in April it just got lost amongst the business trips, vacations, and grand remodeling projects of spring.

It won’t take long to finish; it’s actually more finished than this photo shows. It’s a beautiful lace pattern in Handmaiden Sea Silk, my favorite lace yarn of all times. It’s silk so it can do no wrong to begin with. After all, you can’t go wrong with silk.
I’ve finished another pair of socks over the weekend. Nothing fancy, just basic ribbed socks out of Fiesta Boomerang.

I love the yarn, it knits up incredibly fast, plush as velvet that makes wonderfully cushy socks. I think these will become my sleeping socks when cold weather returns.
The world’s most boring socks out of Regia Silk have won over Dad and he’s none demanding new socksto the point of buying me sock yarn I can knit for him. So I’ve casted on a sock out of Mountain Colors Bearfoot in Juniper since the request came through for green socks.

I don’t think I can get much more green than this but if not, I have a backup skein of Schaefer Anne in shades of green. They are just plain ribs; the cables I had in mind were not working out so I frogged them back. I will have to find suitable sock patterns for men in the future. Now if my socks could only win over my hubby. I might have to resort to more Regia silk but in black since he will wear nothing but black socks.
Now I need to go squeeze some antibiotics down Mistletoe. She got an abscess in her right hind leg that had to be drained and stitched back up. It’s not a pretty sight; her entire right hind leg is shaved, she has one drain tube poking out near her spine and another one popping out at the bottom of her leg, all capped off with 1 1/2″ of stitches that she’s trying to chew off. On, and she reeks of iodine so Ashley keeps hissing and growling at Mistletoe. Wish me luck!

Ooo! such lovely colours.
My husband wasn’t interested in handknit socks until I made him a pair. Now he loves them and wears them around the house in the cold weather. If I make him some dress socks, he’ll wear them to work (or so he says). And the blue sweater looks pretty, even with a large neck. Maybe it could be a boatneck?
