Welcome, you’re probably wondering who are these crazy people that call themselves the Sassy Sheep. Sit down, make yourself comfy and we’ll tell you the story.
Deniasha AKA Den, is a 20-something geeky woman who finally learned to knit. Immediately upon learning, she wondered why she didn’t learn to knit 20-something years earlier! She knitted and knitted scarf after novelty yarn scarf. Sure there was a sweater or wash cloth or two, but it was countless novelty yarn scarf. Finally one day, a dear girlfriend finally introduced her to sock knitting. It was love at first sight! This knitter found her higher calling in life and began to knit sock after sock. Alas, living in backwoods Idaho, fine sock yarns are hard to find, so our heroine must search high and low for good sock yarns and sock knitters in the wilds.
Lasandia AKA Las
I bake professionally and go to school. It is my privilege to live with my cat, my husband, and my wheels. I started out learning to knit from my aunt who owned a yarn store. I loved to knit but found I did not love it as much when I moved away from scarves. I finally found my niche in spinning and happily hand over my handspun to Den and our mother. Den and I are very close sisters; she is one of my best friends. We are often at each other’s houses enabling each other to new levels of naughtiness.
Characters you will come across in this story:
Den’s Hubby: very sweet husband who doesn’t complain about the knitting habit, but only because he has no clue how much Den spends on yarn or how much she really has stashed around the house. Den hopes to keep him in the dark. So far this is working.
Princess Ashley: Her Royal Furriness: Den’s sweet, sassy, tough kitty (she survived being hit by a car eight years ago) who rules the house and knows it. Way, way too smart for her own wellbeing, but we love her anyway. When not ruling the house, she works as a knitwear fashion model.
Mistletoe: Den’s whiny baby girl kitty who was supposed to be Hubby’s cat but ended up as Den’s. She has this thing against her miniature stuffed animal collection.
Audrey: is Den’s yarn stash. A stash with a size-complex whose goal is world domination (or at least the house). Audrey has finally grown from a stashette to a full-fledge stash who has an mammoth appetite for sock yarn, lace yarn and silk. There is no hope of keeping Audrey happy for very long. The more you feed him, the more he wants. He has escaped from the 3 wicker baskets to a fierce on-going battle with Den’s book collection for supremacy of the library. To circumvent the books, he has began sending out stashettes to begin takeover of the rest of the house. He particulary loves Fleece Artist, Schaefer Anne, Handmaiden, Socks That Rocks and Zaggerspun. He fantasizes about Wollmeise.
Versailles: is Las’s fiber stash that only accepts very elite fiber into her presences. She is incredibly selective and since the beginning of the new year, has demanded only exotic fibers. No mere wool for her!
Martha: is Las’s husband. He is a kind man who puts up with her antics. He cooks, cleans, knows which country a yarn was manifactured in by its twist. He also tries to keep Las from buying the world’s supply of cashmere.

Look at Martha!
Jet: is Las’s only kitty. He is very spoiled and well loved. He understands the importance of leaving the fiber and spinning wheel alone. He loves bright colors that highlight his glossy black coat.

Aurora: is Las’s first wheel. She is a Kromski walnut Polonaise. She spins lace weight very well and enjoys taking up space in the fiber room, kitchen, and living room.
Marian, is Las’s second wheel. She is a Kromski walnut Mazurka. She spins chunkier yarns and will travel. She is currently on loan to Las and Den’s mother.

Hey, I maintain I’m also WORTH every sock you knit me. Not only do I buy you lucious yarn *see new blue moon fiber arts order*, but I very deeply appreciate your knitting. What more could a knitter want in a sister?

knitting and wool very much. And I will bei very glad to hear
